OneMobile at Hackathon 2025: Lessons From a 24-Hour Intensive Sprint

Through FireGroup’s Hackathon 2025, the whole OneMobile squad had a rare opportunity to pause day-to-day execution and focus on something equally important: how we learn, collaborate, and build under pressure.
Over 24 intensive hours, teams stepped into new roles, tested ideas quickly, and challenged familiar ways of thinking — creating space for meaningful learning beyond regular workflows.
FireGroup Hackathon 2025: A Challenging + Inspiring Experience
FireGroup Hackathon 2025 marked FireGroup Technology’s 9-year milestone with a 24-hour intensive sprint focused on building, experimentation, and learning. People from different business units and functions came together and stepped away from their usual workflows to explore ideas, test assumptions, and work at full speed within a short, focused window.
What made this year especially meaningful for OneMobile was participation. For the first time, 100% of the OneMobile team joined the hackathon, including teammates from Product, Marketing, and Customer Support. It wasn’t about titles or roles — everyone showed up ready to contribute, learn, and push themselves beyond their day-to-day scope.

The environment stayed fast-paced but open. Conversations moved quickly, ideas evolved in real time, and feedback flowed naturally across teams. Rather than focusing solely on outcomes, the hackathon created space for curiosity, experimentation, and honest discussion around how we approach problems.
What 24 Hours of Intensive Innovation Taught Us
One of the biggest takeaways was how much value comes from stepping outside familiar roles. When people bring different perspectives to the same problem, questions become sharper and solutions more thoughtful.

We also saw how quickly learning accelerates when teams with varied backgrounds work side by side. Product thinking became clearer when viewed through a customer support lens, while marketing perspectives helped reframe how ideas could be communicated and validated. These exchanges didn’t just improve what we built — they improved how we think.
Perhaps most importantly, the hackathon reinforced that enjoying the process doesn’t slow progress. When teams feel engaged, curious, and motivated, momentum builds naturally. The small experiments, conversations, and iterations throughout the 24 hours proved just as impactful as the final results.

Carrying the Momentum Forward
Hackathon 2025 wasn’t an isolated event. The lessons from those 24 hours are already shaping how we approach building, experimenting, and raising the bar at OneMobile.
Being part of FireGroup gives us more than a shared milestone — it gives us a culture that encourages learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement. As we move forward, we’re carrying that mindset into our everyday work, applying what we learned to how we build better experiences for merchants and their customers.
